Shine for ShelterBox
We have just completed a range of designs for the Shine for ShelterBox campaign which is running over the 2015/16 winter period.
The campaign by The Happy Seven encourages people to host and organise seasonal events, lantern parades, singing and candle suppers to raise money and ‘bring light to families in their hour of darkness’. This was to coincide with the inclusion of an inflatable solar lantern into ShelterBox’s emergency kits.
The design is inspired by the Scandinavian concept of ‘hygge’. There’s no direct English equivalent but it’s something like ‘sharing cosiness’, especially during the long dark winters. So there are references to knitting patterns and Nordic stars, with elements interlock like cogs to represent interdependence and connectedness.
