SEforAll - #ThisisCool
Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an international organisation that drives faster action towards affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
Over 1 billion people lack access to sustainable cooling and a further 2.2 billion have inefficient cooling. In a warming world, access to sustainable cooling is not a luxury. It is an issue of equity and a service that must be delivered to everyone. ThisIsCool is a campaign to show what can be done across the world to make sustainable cooling a reality.
OwlnWolf teamed up with Greenhouse PR to create a visual identity, explainer animation and an extensive toolkit of communication materials to galvanise support for the campaign.
The visuals use illustrative overlays on photographic imagery to show how simple but effective cooling measures can be applied to a range of scenarios. Images are tinted in warmer or cooler hues as the cooling interventions take effect. The campaign aimed to engage with a community of global organisations so creating an iconographic language was crucial to bridging language barriers.
The majority of the scenarios visualised are based on existing or developing real world projects. In some cases the illustrations help to explain the principle behind the technology, for example how whitewashing roofs is a cheap way of reflect heat in urban areas.
A set of gif ‘stickers’ was also created. These let users take a picture of a scene on their phone and make it ‘cooler’ by dropping the gif via Giphy (search seforall).
